Through the Able to Decide program, Oasis is empowering young people and adults to make informed decisions about sex, to reduce the transmission of HIV in single, married and co-habiting couples and high-risk groups of people. The project focuses on three areas, abstinence for singles, faithfulness for couples and the mitigation of sexual abuse. Within 12 months we aim to reach 15408 individuals.
The aims of the project are: to equip single people aged 10-24 with the ability to make informed safe choices about sexual relationships, to equip married and cohabiting couples to be faithful to each other and to reduce non-consensual, cross-generational and other unhealthy types of sexual behaviour which contribute towards HIV vulnerability.
The project is being rolled out in schools and churches across Beira.
