Equipping children in Beira to make positive life choices and protecting them from abuse.
Children in Mozambique are faced with great responsibility from an early age. Many are expected to work in the home, sell produce or care for younger children. They are often treated as adults in training who simply gain status as they progress in years and usefulness.
Education Alive
In Education Alive children aged 7-12 are taught using drama, music, art and games, each month addressing a different theme– malaria, baby care, HIV & AIDS etc so that the children can grow in self-esteem and make positive life choices, helping them to live rather than just survive!
In 45 communities around Beira, in churches, orphanages and schools 1800 children attend Education Alive each week. It’s exciting to see children’s lives being transformed as they begin to understand that their value and become more confident to make healthy and safe life choices.
